Dubai

A city of dreamers, caught in motion

Watercolour of Dubai Creek at dusk

From a land of sand, coastline, pearls, wooden ships and spices, a city has risen within a single generation against an azure sky and an emerald sea. Dubai is cosmopolitan, rich in tradition and restless in ambition. People are drawn to its warm embrace, to souqs and malls, oud-scented streets and architectural views. It places innovation beside tradition, and treats its Arab and Islamic heritage with respect for every culture that shares the city. Thirteen paintings by six artists from India, Italy, Russia, Belarus and Poland follow it from the Creek to the Boulevard, from the old markets to the towers of the financial district.
